Child modelling covers a wide range of work, from simple catalogue and lifestyle shoots to occasional fashion projects, usually for children from babies up to around 12.

It should never feel like a job to a child. Good sessions feel like play: dressing up, some photos, a few laughs, and home in time for tea.

UK Models’s approach is built entirely around that idea, with parents involved and in control throughout.

You are always in the room

A parent or guardian is present for every single stage involving your child, from the first meeting to the shoot itself. There’s no version of this where you’re not there.

A licensed chaperone can also be arranged for occasions when a parent or guardian can’t attend in person, though most families choose to be there themselves.

If anything doesn’t feel right on the day, you can pause or stop at any time, no questions asked.

Licensing and school rules

Children of compulsory school age generally need a performance licence from their local council for paid modelling work, arranged via your child’s school and local authority.

UK Models will talk you through what’s needed and when, so there are no surprises and nothing is left to chance.

Keeping it healthy and fun

We keep sessions short, breaks frequent, and expectations realistic. A tired or bored child doesn’t produce good photos, so pace always comes before results.

There’s never any pressure on a child to perform, pull a certain expression, or continue if they’ve simply had enough for the day.

Confidence and a fun memory matter far more to us than any single photograph.

How old does my child need to be?

Child modelling covers babies through to around 12 years old. A parent or guardian is involved at every single stage.

Will I be present during any shoot?

Absolutely. A parent or guardian is present for every stage — meetings, assessments and any shoot day. There are no exceptions.

Does my child need a licence to model?

For some types of paid work, a local authority performance licence may be needed. We can guide families through that process when the time comes.

What if my child gets upset during a shoot?

The shoot stops. Your child’s comfort always comes first, and sessions are kept short, relaxed and age-appropriate throughout.

Do I need to pay anything upfront?

Any costs are explained clearly and in writing before you agree to anything. We never ask for payment simply to be considered.
